Sir Edmund Hillary may have been New Zealand's most famous mountaineer, but he was also our best known beekeeper.
And now the name of "Hillary's Honey" may be revived as his family looks at re-launching Sir Ed's honey.
Sir Ed's son Peter has applied for a trademark over the brand.
"We'd love to bring Hillary's Honey back," he said.
He has fond memories of seeing his father's honey on the shelves of the local Four Square. The brand was established in 1953, the same year Sir Ed conquered Mt Everest.
"We're very keen to see if we can resurrect it," he said.
"We've been talking to various members of the family to see if we can make that fly, because I think it would be great."
Sweet memorial by Sir Ed's family
