A jury on Friday found Masterton man Jason Sutherland guilty of grievously harming a toddler while in his care, and assaulting an eight-year-old boy in March last year.
Sutherland, on trial in the Wellington District Court, has been remanded in custody until sentencing on August 12.
The toddler, aged 2 at the time, was left fighting for his life and had to be resuscitated by paramedics at his home.
He was later airlifted to Auckland's Starship Hospital before being discharged to a North Shore rehabilitation centre.
