A suspicous package has sparked the evacuation of a Work and Income office in South Auckland.
The package was reported to police at 2pm after it was found in the carkpark of the office on Mascot Ave in Mangere.
Staff were evacuated from the building and cordons put up around the carpark.
Police said a sniffer dog trained to detect explosives is in the area and specialist staff will x-ray the package.
Work and Income staff have returned to their offices, but cordons were still up in the carpark and a small area of an adjacent street, police said.
