A garage fire in Christchurch is being treated as suspicious this morning.
The blaze took hold of the 50m x 30m garage on Anvers Place, in the Hoon Hay suburb of the city, shortly after midnight, the Fire Service said.
Two crews of firefighters attended the fire, which was described as "well ablaze" when firefighters arrived on the scene and was starting to spread to nearby plants.
The fire was deemed suspicious, and fire experts were expected to arrive on scene this morning to investigate.
Nobody was inside the garage at the time, and there were no reports of injuries, a Fire Service spokesman said.
