An investigation is being carried out to find the cause of a suspicious fire at a Christchurch theatre last night.
It comes after a series of suspicious fires in earthquake damaged buildings around the city.
Firefighters were called to the Playbox Theatre on Wise St in Addington just after 7.30pm last night.
The building is red-stickered and no one was inside at the time.
Several fire trucks worked to bring the blaze under control but it caused significant damage to the building, said a fire communications spokesman.
