A fire that started in a shopping trolley in a Wellington shopping centre is being treated as suspicious.
Fire Service spokesman Murray Dunbar said the fire began in a shopping trolley in a carpark beneath the Karori shopping mall.
It began shortly after midnight and took firefighters an hour to put out as the flames spread from the trolley to some ducting, he said.
The fire was being treated as suspicious and investigators would be at the scene.
