Police and fire safety officers are investigating a suspicious blaze which ripped through the National Distribution Workers' Union headquarters in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga overnight.
The fire, which started in a union bus stored in the basement, quickly spread through the two-storey building.
Six fire crews from Onehunga, Mount Roskill, Balmoral, Ellerslie and Mangere fought to bring the blaze under control.
Police and fire safety officers are now sifting through the building to try to find out the cause of the blaze.
