KEY POINTS:
Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a Palmerston North primary school on Friday night.
The fire, at Takaro School, was reported at 6.50pm. It destroyed an unused bike shed and storage area that bordered the school property and Takaro Kindergarten.
A police spokeswoman said a scene examination was being carried out by a fire safety officer and police.
She said anyone who had seen any suspicious behaviour in the area should contact Palmerston North police.
