A Lower Hutt kohanga reo has been badly damaged in what police say is a suspicious fire.
The fire struck Stokes Valley kohanga reo, or Maori language school, overnight on Thursday last week.
Lower Hutt CIB said today they wanted to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time.
Meanwhile, another four fires appear to have been deliberately lit around the lower North Island. Fires were lit in Sanson, in Manawatu, Levin, Porirua and Massey University in Wellington early this morning.
Fire Service central communications shift manager Andrew Tollison said it was too early to say if the fires were linked.
