KEY POINTS:
A man considered "extremely dangerous" and suspected of carrying out aggravated robberies, is repeatedly swapping cars to avoid capture, say Hamilton police.
Former prisoner Roger Kenneth Baller is suspected of being responsible for a spate of aggravated robberies around Waikato in recent weeks.
There is also a warrant out for his arrest for breaching his prison release conditions.
Detective Sergeant Neville Ross said Baller was using several of his associates' cars to get around.
"He is changing cars regularly," he told the Waikato Times.
Police had no clues about where Baller might be hiding but had not given up the hunt.
Baller, 34, was released from prison in late June after serving a sentence for robbery and kidnap offences.
Police say he is "extremely dangerous" and had previously threatened to use HIV-infected syringes against one of his victims.
His probation officer has not seen him since late August.
Baller was not a nice guy and had a history of violent offending, so should not be approached, Mr Ross said.
