KEY POINTS:
Ten people airlifted to Te Anau medical centre after being taken ill with suspected food poisoning on a boat trip in Doubtful Sound yesterday have been discharged.
St John's Ian Henderson said the South Lakes rescue helicopter flew the 10 to Te Anau in two trips after they called for help in Deep Cove yesterday afternoon.
Medical centre doctor Liz Scott said the people suffered from diarrhoea and vomiting but she did not know at this stage what had caused the illness.
The 10 people had since been discharged and the centre had discounted norovirus as the cause.
