Police are investigating a suspected air gun incident in the South Auckland suburb of Mangere this morning.
A police spokesman said it appears an air rifle pellet hit the back of somebody's house. This has not been confirmed yet, however.
Armed officers and a police dog unit attended the incident on Kirkbride Rd near the Mangere Cemetery.
A Herald photographer standing outside the house said there were about five or six police cars and a police dog wagon. The officers were armed, he said.
The police spokesman said there is no suggestion a proper firearm was involved in the incident.
