KEY POINTS:
Police have spoken to a man sought in relation to the disappearance of a missing deaf Christchurch woman, and do not believe he has anything to do with the case.
A large-built man in the area of the city's Bromley Park had been sought after he warned other members of the public that the car belonging to the missing woman, Emma Agnew, was "gonna blow" on Thursday night.
The red Mazda Familia was set alight in the park about 11 hours after Ms Agnew went missing.
It is believed she had been in contact with someone wanting to buy the car prior to her disappearance.
Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald said the man had been found and spoken with, and it was believed he had nothing to do with Ms Agnew's disappearance.
Asked if police had any firm leads in the case, Mr Fitzgerald said: "We are working through a number of lines of inquiry."
A prayer vigil for Emma was to be held this morning at New Brighton Beach for friends and supporters.
The deaf community has also launched the "Find Emma Fund" in support of her family and the search efforts.
People can donate to the fund by calling 0900 33 220 to make an automatic $20 donation, or by going to www.donauction.co.nz and selecting Find Emma Fund or at any BNZ branch.
