KEY POINTS:
Labour announced its party list today, promoting eight new faces over some sitting MPs.
There are younger people and racially diverse faces in the mix as the party tries to present a rejuvenated front.
Among the new names were former Race Relations Conciliator and Chief Families Commissioner Rajen Prasad.
The others were:
* 28-year-old Jacinda Ardern, a senior policy adviser in Britain to Sir Ronnie Flanagan, chief inspector of constabulary in the UK;
* Raymond Huo, a lawyer and writer who came to New Zealand from China in 1994;
* Phil Twyford, former global head of policy for Oxfam;
* Council of Trade Unions secretary Carol Beaumont;
* Maori education advocate Kelvin Davis;
* Carmel Sepuloni, of Pakeha and Tongan descent, who works as an equity manager at Auckland University; and
* Stuart Nash, who went up against ACT's Rodney Hide in Epsom last election.
