Eleven-year-old Jesse George thought he was having a regular check up when his care worker Paul Graham came to his house.
Mr Graham handed the Chisnallwood Intermediate student a letter, and smiled as he said: "I've got some bad news for you."
Jesse looked confused, but his face lit up when he read the letter - he's going to Disneyland.
Jesse was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disorder that affects about one in 3500 boys. It means it is hard for him to carry out every day activities as his muscles are slowly breaking down.
But thanks to Koru Care Christchurch and Air New Zealand, this time next month, he along with 23 other children with serious and ongoing medical issues will be taken on the adventure of a lifetime.
