The defence opened its case yesterday in the trial of the Auckland heart surgeon who is accused of selling 22,000 packets of Telfast decongestant tablets knowing that they were to be turned into the drug P.
Xiao-Zhong Chen said he believed the drugs were being exported to a pharmaceutical company in China.
The trial in the Auckland District Court is expected to finish tomorrow.
