Name suppression has lapsed for a 36-year-old Wairarapa business owner who is facing a serious assault charge.
Rival Wealth owner Timothy Peter Fairbrother was due to appear in Masterton District Court yesterday to plead to a charge of injuring with intent and when name suppression would be argued.
However, his lawyer Gary Turkington applied through the registrar for Fairbrother to be dealt with over the counter thus avoiding a court appearance.
The financial adviser is accused of seriously assaulting a man at Whareama on November 22.
He has pleaded not guilty and has been remanded on existing bail conditions to reappear for a case management review on March 16.
