A judge has prevented publication of almost the entire proceedings of a trial in which two people were defending charges of breaching suppression orders relating to the Louise Nicholas rape case.
The Christchurch pair, builder Daniel Peter Rae, 30, and student Frances Hilary Martin, 22, were found guilty yesterday of distributing leaflets with information breaching suppression orders, after a trial before Judge Phil Moran.
Rae was fined $900 and Martin $450. The maximum penalty is a $1000 fine.
