Wairarapa people are being encouraged to give Plunket a "hug" during the Bear Hug Appeal next week.
Plunket's Wairarapa area manager Tina Syme is encouraging people to donate money, time or to share their skills and experience.
"We're heavily reliant on the funds raised during our appeal. While Plunket's free home and clinic visits are government funded, some of the other services we provide are delivered by volunteers from funds raised in local communities," she said.
"All money collected locally is used for Wairarapa Plunket services such as parent support groups, playgroups, car seats, parenting education programmes and toy libraries.
"A hug is a sign of love and appreciation so we're hoping that Kiwis will help us to continue to provide support to local families when they need it by supporting our March Bear Hug Appeal."
