The latest Roy Morgan political poll shows support for the Government at its lowest level in more than a year.
National has slipped 2.5 points and is now sitting at 49 per cent. The last time support for National dipped below 50 per cent was in February 2009.
However National's misfortune has not come at the hands of Labour. Support for Phil Goff's party has also fallen and is down 0.5 per cent to 33 per cent. The Greens are up one per cent to 7.5 per cent.
The poll also shows 57 per cent of respondents believe the country is heading in the right direction. The number who think it is going the wrong way is up by 4.6 per cent, to 31.5 per cent.
