A supertanker that split its hull and was detained at Marsden Pt by the Maritime Safety Authority was yesterday free to sail.
Capella Voyager was carrying 108,000 tonnes of crude oil to the Marsden Pt refinery when its hull split on April 16.
The authority detained the ship after thousands of tonnes of water leaked into a ballast tank.
A safety authority spokeswoman said yesterday that the detention order on the Capella Voyager had been lifted as the ship was seaworthy.
