Aucklanders will find out today what the future Super City's logo will look like.
The design was chosen through a competition run by the Auckland Transition Agency that attracted more than 1000 entries from the public.
The head judge of the competition, Waitakere Mayor Bob Harvey, told the Herald yesterday the winning logo would be unveiled at an invitation-only ceremony at Auckland's Gus Fisher Gallery this afternoon.
"We have been delighted at the huge range of talent and creativity ... it's been extraordinarily difficult to choose [a winner]," he said.
Mr Harvey said the winning logo was under tight security, and he would not give any hints about what it looked like.
The logo competition's judging panel also included artist Dick Frizzell, clothing designer Karen Walker, broadcaster Bill Ralston, Pacific artist and curator Ema Tavola, art consultant Hamish Keith and Wayne Pihema from the Aotea Centre board of management.
