Super Cheap Auto is recalling a jump start over safety concerns related to the design of the switch.
The affected Super Force Model BFP-A-1900 has been sold in New Zealand from January to March, the company said in a newspaper advertisement today.
This is the third Super Cheap product to be recalled so far this year.
Three models of jacks sold by Super Cheap Auto Pty Ltd were recalled in January because testing indicated these models may have a lower rated safe working load than stated on the jacks.
In March two models of Super Works car stands were recalled due to stability concerns.
Customers who had bought the jump start were eligible for a refund, the company said.
Customers can call 09 250 4630, or visit the website www.supercheapauto.co.nz.
