Labour weekend is expected to bring a typical spring mixture of sunshine and rain.
MetService weather ambassador Bob McDavitt said a front tomorrow would bring heavy rain to Fiordland, Westland and parts of the South Island's east coast. The rest of the South Island, Wellington and the Wairarapa should expect "vigorous" northwest winds. Friday and Saturday would be clear except for drizzle from Waikato to Northland. Another front should hit Fiordland on Saturday and Auckland by Sunday evening.
"Trampers and campers going into the bush will need to keep an eye out and check for weather updates."
There would be showers in the south and west on Monday and settled weather elsewhere.
Sunshine, rain, Labour weekend has it all
