Most of the country will enjoy fine weather with a chance of showers for the rest of the Easter holiday weekend.
The MetService said temperatures will feel more autumnal this weekend.
"We've got a slim ridge of high pressure over the country," said MetService meteorologist Ciaran Doolin.
"However there is a body of moisture over the North Island that's going to bring showers to central and eastern areas today.
"Possibility of afternoon thunderstorms in western central areas, Taranaki and Taihape.
