Meanwhile in Wellington the sun should be out but cold winds may make the day a bit nippy. A high of 16C is expected for the capital.
MetService meteorologist Derek Holland said a ridge spreading over the country would bring with it warmer weather.
"We have got generally settled weather over just about all the country [tomorrow]. There are just a few brief showers in the west coast of the North and South islands.
"We have had a southerly in today so it will be a bit cooler [tomorrow morning] than it has been but not particularly cold temperatures in the morning. It should be a good morning for most people."
He said temperatures in Auckland should drop to a minimum of 14C tonight, a minimum of 11C in Wellington, 7C in Christchurch and 9C in Dunedin tonight.
Sunny skies will make a nice change from the wet weather which soaked many parts of the country today.
Along with the wetter weather were several motor vehicle accidents on the country's roads.
In Auckland a woman became trapped inside a car which rolled on McKenzie Rd shortly before 1pm. Firefighters successfully cut the woman out of the vehicle and she was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Senior Sergeant Chris Money said roads are "pretty slippery" after such a dry spell.
Motorists should "drive to the conditions", Mr Money said, and be "aware that roads may be slippery".
Meanwhile in the Bay of Plenty a woman was seriously hurt following a two-car crash on State Highway 2 at Otamarakau, east of Pukehina.
It is understood another person was also seriously injured.
Back in Auckland another driver walked away unharmed after a car collided with a tree in West Auckland.
The crash happened on Scenic Drive, in Titirangi, around 1.25pm.
The person was unharmed.
