The extradition case of a man accused of involvement in Auckland's "suitcase murder" has been adjourned until tomorrow.
In Sydney, magistrate Julie Huber yesterday endorsed the New Zealand arrest warrant for Cui Xiangxian, 21, but has yet to decide whether to make an order for his surrender to New Zealand police.
She adjourned the case after Lee Ting, appearing for Cui, said he wanted to make submissions about the proposed extradition.
Cui, a Chinese national, was arrested by Australian federal police in Sydney last week.
New Zealand police want him charged over the killing of 19-year-old Chinese national Wan Biao on Good Friday this year. Mr Biao's body was found in a suitcase floating in Auckland Harbour.
Three other Chinese nationals are in custody in New Zealand, facing charges of murder and kidnap, or being accessories after the fact.
