Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the sudden death of a man in Cole St, Masterton yesterday.
Detective sergeant Barry Bysouth said a firearm was discharged and police had completed investigations at the scene.
"The public can be assured that this is a one-off incident and that this isn't as a result of any tensions in the area," Mr Bysouth said.
