Substitute fishing contest

Far North residents are organising a replacement for the Ninety Mile Beach Snapper Classic, which has been put off until next year.

The 90 Mile Beach Surfcasting Club and Kaitaia businesses are selling tickets at $100 each for their Snapper Bonanza Contest to be held from Monday, March 22, to Friday, March 26.

Cash and spot prizes of up to $5000 are offered and fishing is allowed from 7am to 3pm daily.
