KEY POINTS:
People listening to the radio through the internet are now able to watch hosts in action after the introduction of studio webcams by Newstalk ZB.
The station today announced the launch of webcam broadcasts of The Paul Holmes Breakfast and Larry Williams Drive Show.
General manager of talk programming on The Radio Network, Bill Francis, said studio webcams were a logical move given the increasing number of people listening through the station's website.
"This is the first such venture for a major radio station in New Zealand and gives us a chance to share some of the 'secrets' and innermost workings of radio," he said.
"Many people imagine the look on a radio host's face when a comment is made, now they will be able to actually see that expression, as well as the other activities that go towards bringing the voices to air."
Computer listeners will also be able to watch hourly news bulletins being read between 6am and 6pm.
