Auckland's Huhu Studios computer animation workshop has signed a US$25 million ($37 million) deal for a six-part series of movies - animated and in 3D - based on Bible stories.
Part of the money will come from iGlobe Treasury, a fund sponsored by the Government's Venture Investment Fund.
The first of the six-part Wise Giant series, Ten Commandments, has just been announced in Cannes as the first 3D animated theatrical release produced in New Zealand.
