Solway College's drama production this year was very different to previous years. Drama teacher Janet Osborne both wrote and directed The Land of Smiles.
The talent in the school was shown through the acting, dancing and singing and in the costume making. Students, staff members and parents spent many hours creating steampunk costumes for our cast and for the whole school.
Past student Sarah Jane Matthews visited Solway College recently to talk about her studies and share some advice with our students.
Sarah has been studying dietetics for the past four years at Otago University and will be completing her masters degree this year. She has gained two national awards, the Nestle Top Dietetics Student award and the Abbott Nutrition Bernice Kelly Award for excellence as an entry-level dietitian.
At the end of term three, Solway students experienced a "high tea" with their school sisters. After a few etiquette lessons to prepare, staff and students enjoyed beautifully set tables and delicious cakes and scones.
