A team of Year 10 students from Solway College have scored first prize in a transtasman bridge-building competition.
Amanda Hayes, Alysha van Wijk and Mikayla Donahue came first-equal creating a model bridge for the Aurecon Bridge Building Competition, open to students in Years 8 to 10 in New Zealand and Australia.
The teams had to use balsa wood, string, glue and cardboard to strict guidelines.
The bridges were tested to see which school's bridge could withstand the heaviest load before failing.
They were also marked on aesthetics, creativity and workmanship.
