The University of Canterbury's Student Volunteer Army are auctioning a child's playhouse this month, with all proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald house.
The playhouse will be auctioned on Trade Me, while a second playhouse gifted to the SVA will be donated to a Christchurch pre-school or family.
Each playhouse has an estimated value of $1600.
SVA president Bridget Williams says the group plan to continue their volunteer work in Christchurch this year, setting up five new "platoons" - named Creativity, Muscle, Green, Dish it up and Outreach.
The creativity platoon will work with Gap Filler to help fill the "negative spaces" around the city, the muscle platoon consist of students keen to do physical volunteer labour, the green platoon is made of forestry students and those passionate about the environment, the dish it up platoon will feed the hungry, working with the Salvation Army and setting up soup kitchens, and the out-reach platoon students will help charities and families.
