A 16-year old girl has been rescued after dislocating her knee in the Tongariro National Park
A police media spokeswoman said police were called just after 11am and it was understood the teenager was part of a group of students and staff near the Emerald Lakes.
The girl was taken to Taupo Hospital by rescue helicopter.
