New Zealand's next MasterChef might be coming straight out from the heart of Wairarapa.
Fifteen senior students from Wairarapa College opened their own casino-themed restaurant for two nights last term and put on an extravagant meal for 28 diners.
The students, who are studying hospitality, did everything in the Full House Restaurant themselves: creating the menu, cooking and serving the meals and even decorating the interior of the building with casino-related paraphernalia.
It took students about six weeks to prepare for the event.
Head of Food Technology and Hospitality Cindy Veitch said the course helped the students to understand what it is like to work in the restaurant industry.
