A bay colt by Darci Brahma from Kalamanda was passed in at $47,000 having not reached the $50,000 reserve but was open for later bids.
Ardsley Stud, Masterton, sold a bay colt by Savabeel from Splendid in Spring to NZB, as agent on behalf of a Hong Kong buyer, for $75,000 and another offering from the stud - a filly by Darci Brahma from Opuatia - was passed in at $17,500.
A reserve of $20,000 had been put on the filly.
Local activity on the first day included the purchase by Bruce Perry Bloodstock, Masterton, of a bay colt by Rip Van Winkle from Medrano, for $250,000.
The colt had been offered by Haunui Farm.
Bruce Perry Bloodstock also bought a bay colt by Pins from Natural Rhythm for $200,000.
The colt was offered by Waikato Stud Ltd.
Top price on the first day was paid by Rogerson Bloodstock who parted with $800,000 for a colt by Fastnet Rock from former glamour racemare Katie Lee, bred at Cambridge Stud by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan.
