Strong winds are expected to cause problems for drivers in the lower North Island today.
Wind warnings are out for higher parts of Wellington and Wairarapa, through until this evening.
Exposed parts of central and southern Hawke's Bay and the Tararua District will be windy until early tomorrow morning.
Gusts of 120 kilometres an hour are likely, meaning damage to trees and power lines is possible.
