Strong earthquake strikes Fiordland

A strong earthquake has struck Fiordland this morning.

GNS Science said the magnitude 4.8 quake struck at 6.36am, and was centred 35km east of Milford Sound at a depth of only 2km.

The quake was felt from Te Anau to Wanaka.
