String of fires investigated in Invercargill

A marae was destroyed in one of four suspicious fires in Invercargill overnight.

The other fires were in a large cable drum near a railway line, a shed and a hedge.

Emergency services were alerted between 11.50pm and 1.10am to the blazes, which fire safety officers and police are to investigate today.
