The number of people receiving a sickness benefit for stress or depression has more than doubled since Labour entered Government in 1999, according to Act Party deputy leader Muriel Newman.
Answers to written parliamentary questions showed that 5354 people received the sickness benefit for stress and depression in 1999 and 12,228 as at October this year - a rise of 128 per cent, Dr Newman said yesterday.
