Bikini streaker Lisa Lewis has apologised to Nelson College for Girls for inspiring a 17-year-old student's topless escapade this week.
Ms Lewis, who ran on to the field in a bikini during the first All Blacks-Ireland test, called college principal Alison McAlpine yesterday to say that she was sorry if she had in any way encouraged the student.
Year 13 student Heidi Wardrop ran on to the sports field dressed only in her knickers during a rugby match between Nelson College and Shirley Boys High School of Christchurch on Tuesday.
The streak was "completely spontaneous", resulting from a dare when the match got boring, said Ms Wardrop, who has been suspended from school.
She will face a board of trustees hearing on Monday that will decide her fate.
Ms Lewis last week copped a $200 fine and $130 costs in Hamilton District Court.
"I admired her for calling," Ms McAlpine said.
