KEY POINTS:
Police are appealing for information after a strawberry seller was robbed at gunpoint in west Auckland yesterday.
Police said the 37-year-old woman was selling fruit at Swanson Reserve about 11am when she was approached by a man in his forties and a woman in her twenties who showed her a gun.
Detective Constable Nicki Robinson said the pair forced the woman to sit in her nearby car and demanded cash, jewellery and her cell phone.
Ms Robinson said the woman attended two customers during the ordeal - leaving her car to help them - but that it was unlikely that they were aware of what was happening.
The offenders left the scene in a silver car.
The victim is distressed by the incident and being comforted by friends and family at home.
Police asked anyone with information to contact Detective Constable Robinson at Henderson Police on 09 839 0630.
