The Rolling Stones didn't blow the Western Springs sound barrier.
Despite complaints from nearby residents, who said noise from the band's Sunday night concert at the stadium was the loudest they had heard, Auckland City's compliance and monitoring staff were satisfied with the noise levels monitored.
"Throughout the two-hour concert the sound levels did not exceed the 107dBA limit required under the resource consent issued for the concert, as measured from the sound desk at Western Springs stadium," Barry Smedts, the city's manager of regulatory services, said yesterday.
The Stones played in Wellington last night at the Westpac Stadium.
