A black Holden Commodore stolen from Auckland's Mount Roskill police station has been found not far away, in Mt Eden.
The car was found parked outside the Mt Eden shops by a private security patrol at 1am today.
Police are thanking the public for helping to locate their car and investigations are continuing into its theft.
The car, a standard 2007 VE Commodore registered DZD565, does not have police logos or signage.
It was used by volunteers working with police on literacy and budgeting programmes for at risk programmes.
It was taken on Tuesday night, or early yesterday morning.
