Waitakere police are searching for the driver of a stolen car that hit a police officer in Auckland on Wednesday, leaving him with multiple leg fractures.
The grey 1990 Nissan Primera sedan, registration XH7643, was stolen from the LynnMall Shopping Centre in New Lynn about 1.30pm and hit the officer in the Kelston Shopping Centre shortly after.
The car was found in New Lynn early yesterday and police want information on its movements.
The driver is described as a Polynesian in his 20s, of skinny to medium build. Anyone with information should call Henderson CIB (839-0600) or Detective Catriona McLeod (839-0631).
