Local fashion label Stitch Ministry closed its doors for good this week after hitting financial trouble.
The label was designer Kylee Davis' second foray into the industry after Insidious Fixx was liquidated amid investigations into a large-scale drug operation in its Onehunga warehouse.
Police uncovered the million-dollar cannabis cultivation operation in 2005. Davis was not implicated but her business partner, Jason Crawford, was sentenced to six years' imprisonment.
Davis launched Stitch Ministry with Jason Gitmans soon after and achieved international success. But in a written statement, the pair said the market had become "tough in the extreme".
