An extensive search of difficult terrain has failed to throw up any clues to the whereabouts of a missing Canterbury man.
Search and rescue teams have been searching a large area of Whitecliffs over the last four days in the hope of finding Raymond Neil Finnie, 74.
Mr Finnie is commonly known as Neil, and was last seen driving his silver 2013 Suzuki Swift on September 25.
His car was found in the Whitecliffs area on Wednesday.Sergeant Phil Simmonds of Canterbury search and rescue said land and aerial searches covering a 3-4km radius of where Mr Finnie's vehicle was found have been carried out.
"The challenging terrain extends from heights of 300m up to 900m and unfortunately he has not been located despite in excess of 1100 man hours spent searching the area for him over the last four days."
