KEY POINTS:
Poor weather and fast-flowing water hampered police yesterday in their search for a youth missing in the Waikato River.
The 17-year-old and an accomplice leaped into the river to evade police on Friday morning.
The survivor was found nearly 30 minutes later but there has been no sign of his mate.
Officers will look for the teenager by boat today but a police dive team has left Hamilton.
Police have not released his name.
