There are still thousands of points up for grabs in the Gigatown competition which could help bump Masterton up from sixth place.
Chorus has started a new sub-competition which ends on Monday, April 14.
To enter the Facebook Smart Cities Competition, people have to create a 20 to 30 secondvideo showing how a one gigabit per second wifi-connected innovation could help improve their town.
They then upload it online and link to it on their town's verified Gigatown Facebook page.
The town's community then selects the best video to submit to an independent panel, which will judge each of the town's submissions and award one town 200,000 points.
First place will also receive a street art installation by internationally renowned artist Askew and second place gets 100,000 points and third place, 50,000 points.
Entries must be uploaded by midnight April 14 and the community has until Thursday, April 17, to pick the best video to submit to the panel. The winning towns will be announced on April 24.
Points can also be earned by taking a quiz on gigatown.co.nz and in the usual way by using the #gigatownmtn hashtag on social media.
