There are still thousands of points up for grabs in the Gigatown competition which could help bump Masterton up from sixth place.
Chorus has started a new sub-competition which ends on Monday, April 14.
To enter the Facebook Smart Cities Competition, people have to create a 20 to 30 second video showing how a one gigabit per second wifi-connected innovation could help improve their town.
They then upload it online and link to it on their town's verified Gigatown Facebook page.
The town's community then selects the best video to submit to an independent panel, which will judge each of the town's submissions and award one town 200,000 points.
